Hanoi rocks is a finnish band formed by Andy mcCoy and Nasty Suicide at 1979 in Helsinki.In the same year they met Michael Monroe,and Andy was so impressed by his unique style,that they became very good friends and decided to form the band.Then they took Sammy Yaffa for bass player and after recordind the single "Kill City Kills" at 1980,they decided in 1981 to move to Stockholm,Sweden.From a Michael Monroe's nterview it is known that Michael,Nasty and Sammy for some months were living in the streets of Stockholm."Hanoi Rocks was a poor band that wasn't for the money"he is saying at that interview.At 1981 their first album,"bangkok shocks,saigon shakes,hanoi rocks" was released and "tragedy" was its hit.Then the band wanted to move to London,so they would make bigger things that they could not do in Scandinavia.There they released their second album,"oriental beat"and after that they fired the drummer Gyp Casino,because of his attitude and his big drug addiction.Then in Londom they met their new drummer Razzle,who brought a new light for the band.In 1982 they also released an album with some previous single and unreleased songs,with the name"self destruction blues".The next yeat,1983,they released their new album,"back to mystery city"and the band was on a good way,especially when a big american label decided to record their 5th album,"two steps from the move",which was released at 1984 and recorded at New York and Canada.The future for the band now was glittering,and they were ready for their first u.s.a tour,when Michael Monroe broke his ankle,and they had to cancel the tour.Their drummer,Razzle,decided to visit a friend in L.A,but after a party,the driver of the car that Razzle was in,lost the control of the car and the tragedy occured.The driver was Vince Neil,the motley crue singer.After some months hanoi rocks broke up(1985)and never managed to reunite.At a party that was made for a 4 hanoi rocks cd box,in 2001,Michael monroe met after long time Andy mcCoy,and they had such a good time together that the next year they rebirthed the rock n' roll legend,hanoi rocks.Since then they have released 3 albums and some singles and they are very succesfull at europe and japan.

I actually became a hanoi rocks fan accidentally,when i found their myspace web page.Since then i have all the albums and a big collection of pictures,and i think that is one of the best rock n' roll bands,so i sujest to anyone who loves good rock n ' roll to listen to them!!!
